I've been somewhat amazed at how many folks are not out on the web or in their local libraries reading all they can to learn more about fiber arts including its historical and cultural significance.
I'm always wanting to "know more." I'm always stumbling along the path to knowledge. Each time I stumble, I find something new: I find something that makes me even more curious.
For the curious, here is ~
Know More ~ Self-Server Knowledge
~ a place to find short biographies on significant and not so significant fiber artists.
~ a place to discuss new techniques and trends.
~ a place to discuss old techniques and trends.
~ a place to direct fiber enthusiasts to note worthy resources, events, and tourist destinations.
~ and hopefully, a place where you'll find some odd stuff that will make you wonder.
by hand ~ tatted or crocheted, grandma mabel made the most lovely lace. she taught me how to do "handwork" as soon as I could hold a hook. the hours she spent working with her hands made me want to do the same. now years after she has passed, i crochet for her, i knit for her, i weave for her, and i spin wool for her...by hand.
